This Toronto Distillery District Wedding during the major ice storm of April 2017 was an exceptional event regardless of the weather. The bride has been a friend of mine since high school and it was my honour to be part of her beautiful day.
This unexpected newsworthy storm may have been a damper for some, but for the couple it made perfect sense. On the day they were set up on a blind date by mutual friends, there was also a brutal storm that almost caused both of them to cancel. Luckily, they braved that storm and the couple have embraced how the thread of stormy weather has brought them together.
The couple chose to get ready for the day together at an Air Bnb in Lesleyville, which gave me plenty of opportunity to capture some genuine and relaxed moments between the couple. What a great way to lessen some of the stress of your wedding day than to have a relaxed morning together with your partner!
The Distillery District is a historical area in Toronto with a fantastic “old Toronto” vibe. The bride’s Lengha, traditional Indian wedding dress, combined with the contrast of the district created a real Industrial meets Traditional feel to their photography.
