If you are looking for wedding photos where you can feel the excitement of the day as you flip through them then you’re in the right place! I’m Michelle, a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in the Greater Toronto area and Kitchener, Ontario, and the one behind Magnolia Studios.

I don’t believe every wedding should look the same.
One of my favourite parts of this job is discovering what makes every couple unique. Some are playful and adventurous. Others are quiet and romantic. Some celebrate with bold colour and big personalities, while others are drawn to timeless simplicity.

Over the years I’ve developed a diverse approach that blends creative portraits, genuine candid moments, and an eye for style and design. Rather than trying to fit you into a particular style of photography, I create space for your personalities to naturally unfold. While I may offer direction when it’s needed, it’s the way you laugh, move and connect with one another that transforms each photograph into something uniquely yours. That’s what gives every Magnolia gallery its own personality and brings the feeling of your wedding day back to life.

It’s a mix of creative portraits with a natural feel and candid photography – the best of both worlds! I capture the hidden moments with keen awareness, but I also have a big love for cool, creative portraits. My photos are bright, vivid and colourful which to me suits the feel of a wedding day. People often comment on how my photos feel ‘happy!’

Absolutely not! It’s not about a specific colour or style at all, but more about having a wedding that is uniquely YOU! Whether it’s backyard chic, country charm, or modern glam, I love it all! I like to infuse your style and personality into the day using my photography approach.

For family photos, absolutely! I send out a formal family shot list before every wedding to make sure everyone important is covered.

For creative portraits, however, my approach is a little different.

Rather than taking a pre-planned, controlled approach or recreating a list of someone else’s photographs, I interpret what’s already there. Your personalities, your venue, the light, the atmosphere, the weather, the people around you, and the way your day naturally unfolds all become part of the creative process. The result is a gallery that could only belong to your wedding.

I also believe creativity needs room to breathe. When every minute is accounted for and our focus becomes crossing photographs off a list, there’s less opportunity to notice the unexpected moments that often become favourites. When we have the freedom to slow down and be present, inspiration has room to happen naturally.

If inspiration strikes in the moment, I’m always happy to run with it – that’s often where the best photographs come from!

All photos in your gallery will be fully colour corrected and colour enhanced, high resolution, jpg images. Photoshopping or retouching (altering anything in the photo, removing anything in the photo) is an add on option as well. Since I have a bright style to my photography it gives a nice finish to the skin. No photos on my website, blog or instagram have been photoshopped or retouched.

Let’s start with a meeting so that we can be absolutely sure that we are a great fit! From there a contract and retainer payment will lock in your date.

I am located in Mississauga and Kitchener, and I shoot from Toronto to London, Ontario and anywhere in between! This includes Hamilton, Niagara and Grand Bend, Ontario.

I honestly hear this all the time! Because I shoot a blend of candid photography + creative portraits shot with a natural feel – most of the day you may not even notice me that much. For the portrait part of the day, I am there to guide you so you look and feel as natural as possible while taking photos. With the right direction, it’s a lot easier than you think! The goal is to capture your natural vibe together, with a little bit of creativity.

Let’s get a little more personal…

Before I found my way into weddings, I photographed everything from fashion and modelling to music photography, to commercial branding, interior design and corporate work. Looking back, each genre taught me something different – from creative portraiture and thoughtful composition to lighting, design and storytelling. Today, those experiences all come together in the way I photograph weddings.

Today, those experiences allow me to approach every wedding with a broader creative perspective and allows me to adapt my approach to the unique personalities and style of every couple I photograph.


When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me at my cottage in Grand Bend (where I also love to photograph!), paddleboarding, playing tennis, learning guitar, wandering through a thrift store, or checking out expos (I love learning about what other businesses and brands are doing!) or simply spending time with friends and family. I’m naturally curious and love finding inspiration in unexpected places!
